I was pulling my camper over the weekend to Black Mountain and this code occured. It went into to Limp Mode and I had to stop and clear it several times. It eventually quit coming on. It did the same on the way back home. I have checked all electrical connections under the hood, adjusted metal contacts and applied dielectric grease to all plugs. I found zero corrosion, no broken wires. The code hasn't occured since I last cleared which was on the way home too. It is extremely difficult to troubleshoot when it is intermitent!!

Like any successful business, sports team, organization or AMSOIL Dealership, recruiting the right people is one of the keys to that success. How can you better assure that you will be able to attract the right people to your business? How can you best create a team that will be willing to follow you? It's one thing to talk the talk, but true leaders will attract followers by being able to walk the walk. In other words, show you team how to do something as opposed to telling them what to do.

Leadership is influence. And if you're hoping to lead by example and develop a successful team, certain characteristics will enable you to influence people:

Maintain a positive attitude: The one thing we have the most control over is our attitude. Yet most people behave like they have no control whatsoever. Your attitude determines how you respond when someone turns you down, doesn't show up for a presentation or a team member drops out. Your attitude determines whether you accept personal responsibility for what happens in your business, or whether you blame others. Having a positive attitude is infectious and can lead to you having more positive and happy people in your group. It's possible to train a positive person. It's impossible to train an uphappy person.

Embrace change: Do not be afraid of change. How many of you have had some difficulty with some of the changes AMSOIL has instituted recently? How many have had a difficult time with the changes in the economy? Great leaders ride change, they don't try to manage it. Just as surfers do not create the waves they surf. Leaders welcome change.

Take a risk: People who lead by example are not afraid to take risks. I'm not advocating that you should roll the dice every time an important decision needs to be made or certain action needs to be taken. But the biggest risk in business and in a sales situation is never to take one. Mistakes are lessons on the road to success.

Communicate: Leaders set the tone for open communication. You don't have to be a loud, rah-rah type to effectively communicate. But if you're able to demonstrate through your actions you can very effective. Let's face it. Lack of communication is almost always the root of any problem.

Delegate: Effective leaders share responsibility. Offer support and encourage, but don't do everything for others. A true team needs to have confidence in several individuals in order to be successful.

Commitment: This is the catalyst to make all of the other characteristics a reality. As a leader of a team, you encounter many commitments...and it's the ability to take action that can mean the difference between being successful or not.
