• AMSOIL Dealers Get Back To Basics

A recent sales Blog Entry on the AMSOIL Site.

Is your AMSOIL business not where you want it to be? Feel like you are spinning your wheels or investing more than you are getting in return? Perhaps it is a good time to step back and evaluate what you are doing and how you are doing it.

It is a natural part of life to take for granted the core or basic building blocks in almost every area. We tend to focus our attention on the external or perceived high value, fancy or new part of things. Take your vehicle for example. The majority of your attention is on keeping the exterior and interior clean and shinny, making sure the radio and GPS always work, etc…

Little or no attention is paid the core mechanical systems until something breaks or isn’t working properly. Fortunately in a vehicle when a core system isn’t working properly or at all, it is pretty obvious and we can take action to fix it.

The problem in business is that when we as sales people have something broken or askew in our core systems it isn’t that noticeable and we don’t think to check and assess any linkage of these things to slow or poor sales, unsuccessful prospecting, etc...

We talk about the core systems a lot at AMSOIL and do so because we know that it is human nature to neglect them and that they are a big part of the sales success puzzle. So what are the core systems you should be reviewing and maintaining regularly?

    • How’s your attire – Do you dress for success?

    • Business card – have all your current contact info?

    • Do you have a professional voicemail greeting?

    • Customer Service- Are you available? Return calls / emails promptly?

    • Attitude – Positive, friendly?

Because we tend to focus on the outward, each of us needs to regularly step back and do a thorough review and analysis of our core to ensure everything is in order and working properly. With a fit core we can be sure that investments made on the external and higher level items are more effective and profitable.

If I can help with anything to help you get your business going, please let me know.
